Importance of Electrical Survey

Our house is almost ready for occupancy, one of the major things that is needed to do is transfer the electricity from our old house. My mother already asked someone to do an electrical survey on how much we are going to spend on electric wires, power outlets, lights and etc. I thought it would be so expensive (though it is really expensive), the proposed budget of the electrician is $350 and labor is not included on it.  Hiring someone to do the survey is convenient, at least we already have an idea how much money do we need for this job.

House Plan

If electricity is already installed in our new house my family can move already even the windows and doors are not yet done, living in our province is not that dangerous because most people know each other, and mostly they are related to each other. My mother says they can just use bamboo as temporary window like what you see in the picture (left where the orchids are).

Electrical survey is important because it can help you to save more on buying extra wires that are not needed and you can make sure that your house electrical installation will be safe, the outlets will be in the proper place.

Construction Tips and Planning

You may know that you are supposed to look at an Advanced Geosciences resistivity survey before you start work on any building project. However, do you know what types of things you should be looking for as you go over the survey? Understanding exactly what you should watch out for can help you identify it much faster than you would be able to otherwise, so you should know about these common pitfalls in advance.

House Construction

First of all, you just need to look for any underground water sources that could pose a problem. The water table below the surface may be invisible to the eye, but it functions much like the water on the table surface. There are lakes and rivers. You do not want to dig down for the basement or to construct the foundation and discover that you are attempting to build on unstable ground over an underground water source.

Depending on where your project is located, it may also be a good idea to look for fault lines. The survey will tell you if you are building on top of one. At that point, you can decide if you want to go through with the project or if you would feel better about it if you moved to another location. It is worth noting that a fault line itself does not mean that it is unsafe to build, but you have to take special precautions and use special methods to make sure that the building is really safe.

Living Room Furniture and Design Ideas

When it’s time to start redecorating your family game room, remember to choose plenty of items that are comfortable, cozy, and convenient. Never pick items just because they are cheap. Instead, opt for furniture and accessories that you just can’t get enough of.

First of all, check out StandsandMounts.com corner TV stands. A corner TV stand works well to make your room seem bigger. It will keep your TV well out of the way, but still within convenient reach so you can play video games or watch movies.

Another important thing to do is to get a comfortable couch or sofa. The right couch should be big enough for you and your guests to sit comfortably while you either play games or watch shows together. Guest comfort is essential when it comes to designing the right family room.

Finally, make sure you have a great bookshelf to house your board games. Board games are a “must” for anyone who has a family room. Choose something big enough to house all of your games but that also matches your other furniture. You should keep your shelf within reach so that everyone can grab games whenever they want to. Make sure you organize your games well so that each guest can find the games they want as soon as they want them.

Kitchen and Bathroom Door Plan

House plan is very important when constructing a new home, without it everything will be disarray. When my family started the construction of the house they send me the copy of the house plan, I was impressed with the perspective layout of the house and didn’t look closely at the house plan. Within few months the first floor of our house was almost finished including the bathroom but the other day when my sister uploaded new photos, I was surprised to see that the bathroom door is directly facing the kitchen sink, which mean if you went out the bathroom it is already the kitchen. I didn’t like it so I asked them if they can move the door to the other side, it could be a good idea but it is not possible because the other side is already the stairs, the bathroom was built under the stairs.

Kitchen and Bathroom Door

My family told me that they send the house plan to me and I should know that the bathroom was there,  yeah I know it was there but I didn’t know that door is facing the kitchen. We made few plans like closing the door and just open a new door in the bedroom beside the bathroom, it could be a good idea but thinking that if we have visitors and they need to use the bathroom/toilet they have to go inside the bedroom first before they can use the toilet, so it is a bad idea after all.

I’ve asked my husband about my problem and he carefully looks at the house plan and he agreed that the toilet seems in the wrong location,  he suggested to make it as a pantry. I’ve told my mother and sister about it, to cut the story short when they went home they informed my father and they agreed to make the bathroom as a pantry since it was not yet fully finished and suggested to transfer the bathroom at the back of our house, the storage area rather than making two bathrooms (making the first one as private).

Ways to Use LED Curtains

A celebration that’s held in a private room at a restaurant or in a rented hall usually has its own unique décor. A growing trend in this type of décor is the LED curtain. The warm, elegant glow of an LED curtain is an appealing addition to many types of celebrations. Here are a couple examples of how LED curtains are used in various celebrations.

A Sweet Sixteen Party

LED curtains are an ideal option for a sweet sixteen party held in a rented hall. These curtains can be set up around the dance floor to cast a glow over the dancing couples. Also, an LED curtain can be put up in one area of the room for photographs of couples and friends of the girl celebrating her sweet sixteen. LED curtains are visually appealing and serve to illuminate particular portions of a room giving the atmosphere an elegant tone.

A Wedding Shower

A group of friends getting together in the private room of a restaurant will enjoy the party all the more with special décor. For example, the host of the party can set up an LED curtain behind the dessert table. This light will serve to illuminate all of the tasty goodies in a soft, inviting way. An LED curtain can also be put behind the seat of the guest of honor. She will love the playful lighting created by this attractive décor. Party planners can look online at an LED curtain from ZappoBZ.com.

Buy Quilt Bedding Sets of Beautiful Designs

Long before there was an international recycling moving, the tradition of quilting had taken on one of its key tenets. Women and men who made quilts were able to repurpose old clothing or remnant fabric in order to make bright, unmatched large squares for bedding. This was an especially useful technique during times of war when food, clothing and other essentials had to be rationed. Savvy seamstresses knew nothing, no matter how far it seemed beyond repair, was wasted. Every worn and torn garment could have a new purpose. The patchwork quilts at Linens-n-More honors this tradition with their wide array of bright patterns.

Herringbone Square Quilt

Priced from just above $100 up to about $390, this bedding is hand quilted and made of 100 percent cotton. One pattern that breaks with the usual color scheme is the Herringbone Square quilt made by Donna Sharp. The squares are gradients of a grayscale, and the quilt comes in king, queen and twin size varieties. Sharp’s quilt is staged in a room that continues the chromatic design. It pops against a white rug and is accessorized with black and white photography, black small furniture and large black and white art pieces strategically leaned against a distant wall. It is easy for any viewer to imagine the quilt draped cozily across his bed.

Kettle Grove Quilt

The eye-catching Kettle Grove Quilt provides a slightly different approach to patchwork design. The squares are small and uniform, and the alternating light and dark patterns help the lines look sharp. This variation on the design is a reminder that age-old traditions can always have some merit in modern times.

Importance of Choosing the Right Lighting

Lighting is critical for any workplace. The advent of the electric light changed how we work and electric lighting still underpins all the basic business functions of any urban complex. Without light, you can’t work. No exceptions. This makes lighting a concern that applies to every business. Whether you run an office, a restaurant, a major department store or a tiny boutique, you will need to light it one way or another, and that is going to represent a percentage of your budget every year.

Compact fluorescent bulbs have become the new industry standard, for the most part. They are very energy efficient and last a very long time. The human eye responds differently to light in different spectrums. The right frequency of light can therefore be supplied wit much less power and be just as effective as a more energy-hungry bulb in terms of effective light provided to the human eye. CFLs produce light in such a spectrum as to properly serve the human eye efficiently. However, CFLs are more expensive. While they last much longer, the initial investment will usually be higher for anyone looking into CFLs.

It is possible to buy CFLs online and save. You can acquire compact fluorescent lamps from GenesisLamp.com and other dedicated lighting outlets online. You need to cover shipping in this case, but it allows you to buy them in bulk at a lower cost in general. This makes the initial cost of CFLs much more attractive for anyone looking to stock a workplace for the future.

Creating a Space in a Bijou Bedroom

We don’t always get the bedrooms we want. Sometimes, you have to put your dreams of a massive king-sized bedroom on the backburner and make do with what you have. A lot of people feel concerned by the prospect of dealing with a small bedroom, but it really doesn’t have to be such a hardship.

Making a small bedroom look bigger by creating the illusion of space is a skill that everyone should learn, particularly if you move home frequently for one reason or another. It may help to leaf through some design magazines, or visit websites like Betta Living to get some inspiration.

Think about function

Most people who get stuck with the smallest room in the flat or house tend to just use it to sleep and get changed, opting to spend their work or relaxation time in the living room instead. If your room is exceedingly small, you may well be restricted as to what you can do in it, but with a bit of creativity, you’ll be able to do a little bit more.

By rearranging the furniture in your room to maximize floor space (you can put your wardrobe and bed up against the corners of the room), you can make the spare corner of the room your ‘reading nook’ – or whatever else you fancy.

A simple light fixture and a beanbag will give your room a little extra scope. If space permits, maybe you could even fit a small desk in there.

Purpose-built furniture

Instead of cramming in traditional wardrobes, try and buy or fit a wardrobe with sliding doors, which will save you space when taking clothes out.

Likewise, try and get a bed that has plenty of storage space underneath for stuff you don’t need regular access to, but still want to keep.

Use the walls

If space is an issue, you could restrict your wall decorations to one large piece of art, allowing you to use the rest of the wall space for open shelving. By installing some shelves on the walls, you can get rid of that unnecessary floor-standing bookcase and move your films, video games and books on to the higher shelves.

Now that the bookcase is out of the way, you have a little more space on the floor. A good way of preserving space is to buy two small chests of drawers to stack on top of each other.

So as you can see form the above tips, with a bit of imagination and ingenuity, you can make your bedroom less of a claustrophobic squeeze and more of a cozy den.

Small Room for Music Room

Our house was almost finished the walls, columns, beams and flooring was already done.  There’s a small space below the stairs to second floor I would love to design it as music room where we can display our keyboard and other music instruments and furniture. Buying furniture and instrument is an easy task I could buy pomarico black crystal mouthpiece at wwbw as a collection or as mouthpiece to a clarinet but sad to say though my mother decided to make the small room as stock room.

Small Room

It would be better if I can see the house personally while they are constructing so I can tell them what do I like and what I don’t want. I am kind of perfectionist in every details of the house eh.

Choosing the Right Bathroom Tiles

One of the most difficult decision you face when creating a bathroom is choosing the right tiles.  A good bathroom tile design should create a floor surface that is attractive, water resistant and safe to walk on.

Bathroom

Our bathroom is almost finished, the tiles were already installed and the ceiling is already done. My mother choose shade of blue for our bathroom making it spacious and brighter.
